In 2002, Mennonite Brethren churches in Colombia opened the Education Brings Hope ministry in Cazucá, a neighborhood on the outskirts of Bogotá. Many people arrive here from the countryside having been forced to leave everything behind. Children suffer from malnutrition and respiratory problems due to poor environmental conditions. The activities of illegal armed groups generate intense fear. Approximately 66% of the children and youth do not have access to education.

Global Family funds help support children in their education. Pre-school and primary school children attend the church-run school while older children receive a portion of their school fees and school supplies.
