Guarderia Samuelito is a daycare center in the Esmirna Mennonite Church on the outskirts of Santa Cruz. Many families in the area have very little income and parents leave their children alone or with older siblings while they work. Area youth who are mostly illiterate face the draw of crime. The church recognizes that it’s essential to begin working with children and their families at an early age.

Global Family funds helped construct a classroom, a bathroom and kitchen facilities for the daycare. Ongoing support provides teacher salaries as well as food and educational resources for the children.
