Novo Cordeiro is a community children’s center located in Recife’s Cordeiro neigh­borhood. Many parents struggle financially. The center offers help by tending to children between the ages of three and six years. Children learn basic literacy skills and school readiness tasks such as holding a pencil and cutting with scissors. While the core work is with these young children, the center also helps families access medical and dental care, provides sports for children and ado­lescents, and conducts religious and English classes.

Global Family funds assist by providing resources and supplies for the educational program and money for food and staff salaries.
